About the program

Graduate Program in Energy and Sustainability (PPGES)  began its activities in 2016 with the objective of giving continuity to the qualification of students of the bachelor degree in Energy Engineering. In addition, it aims to attract graduates in related areas of training as well as from other higher education institutions.

PPGES is recognized by Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES) and offers the Masters course free of charge.

The main objective of PPGES is to qualify human resources to work in advanced research in the areas of Energy Systems and Energy Sector Planning, Environment and Society. Thus, it expects to expand the number of professionals able to integrate scientific, technological and innovation research teams;  exercise leadership in projects in public and private organizations;  and work in teaching at technical and higher levels.
