About the program

The Graduate Program in Energy and Sustainability (PPGES) began its activities in 2016 with the aim of continuing the academic training of graduates from the bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering. It also seeks to attract graduates from related fields and from other higher education institutions.

PPGES is accredited by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES) and offers a tuition-free Master’s program.

The main objective of PPGES is to train professionals to conduct advanced research in the areas of Energy Systems and Energy Planning, Environment and Society. The program aims to expand the number of professionals capable of integrating scientific, technological, and innovation research teams; leading projects in public and private organizations; and teaching at technical and higher education levels.
